After yesterday's accident, all of us are under great shock.<br />The funerals of the two workers were held today. The 33 year old Saso Petkovski was buried in Kumanovo, with many from the Evangelical Church attending and the Pastors leading the ceremony. It was sad, but also encouraging to see the what it means to have Christ as Saviour and Lord, as Saso had, and the power and hope that this faith gives.<br /><br />Pastor Saso Georgievski and brother Sime Nikolovski were under police custody for 30 hours. In the late afternoon today, the judge decided that there were elements of for prosecution. Pastor Saso was let go until trial, while brother Sime will be held under arrest for 30 days until charges are brought up. It is now a criminal matter which will be brought against these two brothers.<br /><br />Thank you for your ongoing support.<br /><br />Please continue to pray for us.Evangelical Church in Macedoniahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13701151076869319249noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1485168493253713851.post-36646753434219541102007-09-26T23:44:00.000+02:002007-09-26T23:46:22.099+02:00Tragedy in Kumanovo<p style="font-family: arial;" class="MsoNormal">Dear brothers and sisters,</p> <p style="font-family: arial;" class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p style="font-family: arial;" class="MsoNormal">There is a great prayer need we want to share with you.</p> <p style="font-family: arial;" class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p style="font-family: arial;" class="MsoNormal">Yesterday in the morning there was a tragedy in the church building site in Kumanovo. Their names were Dragisa Angelovski (61) and Saso Petkovski (33). It was a good opportunity to get to know each other better, and also him to better understand the vision for the Balkans. We visited together most of the newly plated churches in <st1:country-region st="on"><st1:place st="on">Macedonia</st1:place></st1:country-region> and ministered together in most of them. Sometimes it was exhausting, as besides driving we had to preach in three different places in a day.</p><p class="MsoNormal"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFQBzf1LDd-oYBfzjI2of02ONM8LKcd_Taz-9jNPMjK1XvG6ibH5PSmjmv3KYynvprpCe7egz-gGULu76ks3vAB5bjIiHnLTN9_FB3HT5KeOg06twwSZnKoq8jxcClauvggsvZNN0lhyq7/s1600-h/Worldshare_Chairman_Visit_Muslim_Family_in_Berovo.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFQBzf1LDd-oYBfzjI2of02ONM8LKcd_Taz-9jNPMjK1XvG6ibH5PSmjmv3KYynvprpCe7egz-gGULu76ks3vAB5bjIiHnLTN9_FB3HT5KeOg06twwSZnKoq8jxcClauvggsvZNN0lhyq7/s320/Worldshare_Chairman_Visit_Muslim_Family_in_Berovo.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5080321737525887202" border="0" /></a> </p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><b style=""><i style="">Global Day of Prayer in <st1:city st="on">Skopje</st1:city>, <st1:place st="on"><st1:placename st="on">One</st1:placename> <st1:placetype st="on">Church</st1:placetype></st1:place> in many congregations.</i></b></p> <p class="MsoNormal">This year, for the first time, the churches from <st1:place st="on"><st1:city st="on">Skopje</st1:city></st1:place> were part of GDOP. This was a great blessing to each church, because almost all the churches were united in this. This event included some activities. We started with 40 days of prayer and fasting, 10 days of 24 prayer, 1 day of a joint prayer and worship and 90 days of blessing for the communities. </p> <p class="MsoNormal">The 10/24 was held in a common room that is located at our church. The non-stop prayer was held from the 17th until the 26th of May. It was encouraging to see how people from different churches and denominations come together and spend time in worship and prayer, each in their own way of practice. Elderly people, mid-aged, young people and even children were watchmen over the city of <st1:place st="on"><st1:city st="on">Skopje</st1:city></st1:place>.</p><p style="text-align: center;" class="MsoNormal"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQrdJOfzVoRbp0AoTG80OrYCRZTtWUQq-0gplKSVVZ_8sJ-wh2lnBNcyER9jPUwC1LlsQgzBSYh4oxTmbQCH9Z8tbTEThJb8wSbYSZdkSbzBRajJcaFBilcRipMviuZcvXhwlxDux_D9E2/s1600-h/Global_Day_of_Prayer_Churches_meeting.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 396px; height: 264px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQrdJOfzVoRbp0AoTG80OrYCRZTtWUQq-0gplKSVVZ_8sJ-wh2lnBNcyER9jPUwC1LlsQgzBSYh4oxTmbQCH9Z8tbTEThJb8wSbYSZdkSbzBRajJcaFBilcRipMviuZcvXhwlxDux_D9E2/s320/Global_Day_of_Prayer_Churches_meeting.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5080320131208118466" border="0" /></a></p> <p class="MsoNormal">Pentecost Sunday was the time when almost all the churches in the city came together in the true time to show that the church in <st1:city st="on">Skopje</st1:city> is <st1:place st="on"><st1:placename st="on">One</st1:placename> <st1:placetype st="on">Church</st1:placetype></st1:place> in many congregations. I was blessed to be one of those who organized this event. The only evident mistake was renting a hall that fit 600 and we had over 700 people. This taught us that next year, with some more organization, we will need to fill a much larger hall.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><b style=""><i style="">Family</i></b></p> <p class="MsoNormal">My wife Nada is of course part of all of what is happening. In May there was a retreat for nurses, where the spiritual emphasis of the project came into light. These two past weeks there have been two modules taught, one in a hospital and the other in our church building. This coming Monday, another professor is coming to teach one more module in many relevant healthcare institutions in <st1:city st="on"><st1:place st="on">Skopje</st1:place></st1:city>.</p> <p class="MsoNormal">Our daughters, Elisaveta and Anastasia had their last school day of the year last week.
