Spring 2007 News from Mirco Andreev

John 17:20-21. "My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.

Dear prayer partners,

Greetings! During these months God has reconfirmed in my heart that we Christian workers are not workers in local vineyards, but in God’s Great Kingdom, and that the Harvest that follows is not because of our smart projects, but because of our unity.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support, which are good reminders that we are joined together in the work in Macedonia.

God has given me good health and I have lost over 50 pounds in the last three months. This has given me more energy to do more work, as you will read in the pages that follow.

Deputational trip to Sweden

From the 3rd until the 12th of March I was in Sweden by invitation of the Smyrna Church. I had the opportunity to visit about ten churches and minister and also meet with church leaders. Two Roma brothers from one of our local churches joined me in this trip. One of them leads one of the new planted Roma church in Bitola, and the other one is a singer-evangelist. The reason for the traveling was fundraising for the Roma church in Bitola.

It was successful in general, so keep this project in your prayers that we might be able to provide a place for the Roma people to meet in Bitola, which they currently do not have.

Deputational and conference trip to the USA

Some days after returning from Sweden, I left for the United States. I was there from the 23rd of March until the 12th of April. There were a few reasons for this trip:

- I was a representative of the pastors from the city of Skopje in a conference organized by the Sentinel Group. It was conference about prayer and transformation.

- I was a guest of the Crossroads Church in Tacoma, where I ministered in the church.

- I visited and met with leadership from the Horizons Fellowship in San Diego, and we are considering of organizing a Life Festival in Skopje in the future.

I continued my visit to some of the partner churches in California. I ministered in some of them, and in others I met with leaders and talked about missions. I visited the churches in Moorpark, San Jose, Los Altos, Menlo Park, Napa and Hercules. My trip finished in Washington State, where I visited some good friends, and had a blessed time with them at the Smokey Point, Linden and Bellingham. It was a very good opportunity to meet again with old friends, make new ones and talk about the work of God in Macedonia.

Trip to Croatia

Soon after I traveled to Osijek at the Bible School there, where we met and discussed about important issues. I was in a mediatory role between the faculty and some Macedonian students. Praise the Lord, we concluded with reconciliation and forgiveness between the parties involved. The feedback we have now is that relationships have been restored.

Youth Conference in Serbia

The weekend after I was one of the main speakers for a Mayday youth conference in Belgrade, which covered all of Serbia. I took with me a group of young people from Macedonia. We were all blessed through this conference in different ways. I was especially happy to spend more time with my nephew Petar, who is a beginner in faith and needs much guidance. It is a good reminder to keep young people like him in prayer.

Short Term teams

During the month of May, we had two teams, one with the Global Youth Network Canada and the other from Pennsylvania. They spend some time in Skopje, but also in Negotino, Bitola and other small towns. They were a blessing through the work they did to the churches and the communities, through church and practical work around the towns.

Worldshare Chairman visit

From the 18th until the 23rd of May, rev. Glynn Jones, the chairman of Worldshare, England visited us. It was a good opportunity to get to know each other better, and also him to better understand the vision for the Balkans. We visited together most of the newly plated churches in Macedonia and ministered together in most of them. Sometimes it was exhausting, as besides driving we had to preach in three different places in a day.

Global Day of Prayer in Skopje, One Church in many congregations.

This year, for the first time, the churches from Skopje were part of GDOP. This was a great blessing to each church, because almost all the churches were united in this. This event included some activities. We started with 40 days of prayer and fasting, 10 days of 24 prayer, 1 day of a joint prayer and worship and 90 days of blessing for the communities.

The 10/24 was held in a common room that is located at our church. The non-stop prayer was held from the 17th until the 26th of May. It was encouraging to see how people from different churches and denominations come together and spend time in worship and prayer, each in their own way of practice. Elderly people, mid-aged, young people and even children were watchmen over the city of Skopje.

Pentecost Sunday was the time when almost all the churches in the city came together in the true time to show that the church in Skopje is One Church in many congregations. I was blessed to be one of those who organized this event. The only evident mistake was renting a hall that fit 600 and we had over 700 people. This taught us that next year, with some more organization, we will need to fill a much larger hall.

Family

My wife Nada is of course part of all of what is happening. Besides all of the above, she is still leading the MPSE project for nurses. These last months have been full of activities for the project. In May there was a retreat for nurses, where the spiritual emphasis of the project came into light. These two past weeks there have been two modules taught, one in a hospital and the other in our church building. This coming Monday, another professor is coming to teach one more module in many relevant healthcare institutions in Skopje.

Our daughters, Elisaveta and Anastasia had their last school day of the year last week. Elisaveta finished her third year of high school, while Anastasia finished her fourth grade of elementary school. They also graduated successfully their English school, and Anastasia the piano and music classes as well. It is great for Elisaveta to be involved with the youth group and leading worship in the church.

Prayer requests

Please pray for:

- The teenage Christian camp, from the 11th until the 15th of June in Greece. There will be 90 participants. Pray for a revival of the teenagers.

- The MPSE ongoing modules throughout the month of June.

- The last MPSE retreat, the nurse that became a believer and the other 15 that want to know more about Jesus.

- Conference trip to Northern Ireland. Together with my assistant Joan, we will be attending a Church and Peace conference and after that some days of deputational visits to different churches.

- Upcoming Baptism. Most of our churches are preparing for a baptism. Pray for the candidates that they will be ready to confirm their faith publicly.
